Territory: World
About the previous project (Lars and the Magic Mountain):
Everything Looks Good From Here, is an album about devotion, honesty and above all: hope. The album title can be read as an ensuring, soothing message from one world to another. Song For Sasha, was written for Lars his son, when he was still inside his mother’s womb. While the world was on fire, during the Corona crisis, with this song Lars wanted to let him know Everything will be ok, for there’s enough love that awaits him and you can always turn to the beautiful world of music. Of course this message is ambigue, with ‘things’ not really looking ok at all at the moment, so it’s not coincidental Lars is portrayed hiding with his head under a stone on the album cover.
Influences: Fairport Convention, The Beta Band, Spacemen 3, John Coltrane, The Velvet Underground, Sparklehorse, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Brian Jonestown Massacre
“Lars And The Magic Mountain klinkt soms als The Beatles op hun meest experimentele momenten. Da’s geen klein compliment.”
