After some digital releases (Animal Language and Bad Panda records), he recently released his first solo EP called ‘Orion’ on vinyl (La Freund Recordings). Orion features songs made with classic hardware like drum computers and synths. But there’s more to follow as Sjamsoedin will soon release new material, including a cooperation with De Sluwe Vos.
Sjam has been a DJ since forever, but now under the moniker Sjamsoedin he reinvented his performance as a hybrid live show; enhanced with his self-made modular system, creating a jacking, acidic clubsound.
At bigger festival shows Sjamsoedin can even bring a very impressive led show, orchestrated by the talented Naivi. Sjam’s live set-up is then accompanied by Naivi’s ‘visual software synthesizer’ which guarantees a superb and dynamical visual spectacle. The visuals follow the course of Sjam’s live music, because they analyse every layer of it. It ensures a conjunction between lights, colour and sound in the form of live generated patterns and animations that are displayed on a LED installation. A confluence between music and visuals that is organic, authentic and unique every single time.
Sjamsoedin’s live reputation is growing, with shows at Down The Rabbit Hole, Amsterdam Dance Event, World Minimal Music Festival, Best Kept Secret, Solar and Milkshake this year, Sjamsoedin is already presenting his new material in a performance full of electronica, house and techno ingredients. All created live on stage by man and machine.
